I made sure my moulds were clean by giving them a good soak & scrub with Dawn soap & hot water. I took a glass microwave bowl & melted the candy in 30 sec spurts. Making sure I didn't melt them too much. You only want to melt them to the point that it rolls up like clay. You will learn quickly how long to microwave them to get it to a clay consistency. If you melt them too much, just let it set for a bit and the candy will harden up again.
Important tip: You can certainly melt the candies and pour into the moulds (they are silicone and can take the heat no problem), however-it does pour over the edge and this will take additional "clean up" on the image and creates a bit of waste of the candy. It's easier to make the candy doughy to form into the mould with clean edges.
