Table Transformation by Magdalena

Today, we are showcasing a gorgeous table transformation by Magdalena Salacinska (secretgardenchic). She altered this beauty using the IOD moulds, clay and some paint layers to make this table into a unique piece for her home.

Magdalena used the IOD Fleur mould and made castings to add to her piece. You can use IOD paper clay for furniture pieces such as this. The clay is very durable once it dries, it takes any kind of medium you throw at it and it picks up every detail in the moulds perfectly...

Begin adding details to your piece, by placing the castings while still wet so that you can glue it to curved areas with ease. This will make the project look like the castings and details have always been there. Use a strong adhesive when applying to furniture such as liquid nails, E600, etc...

You can start adding your paints and waxes before the castings have dried. This actually helps seal them and prevents gaps as the clay dries. If you find gaps later on, you can fill in with more clay or touch up with your paints...
