Shabby Chic End Table by [re]design

This sweet little table started with humble beginnings and was given a major makeover. Cari found it on the side of the road in a garbage pile and she saw the potential it had right away. The [re]design collection made it possible to make it even better with Decor Transfers, 3D Stencils, Chalk Paste and Wax….

Cari cleaned it up with Krud Kutter (and boy, was it dirty!) Then she gave it a coat of BOSS by Dixie Belle Paint Company to be sure the stain would not seep through the lighter paint color choice. Then she added a couple coats of Dixie Belle Vintage Duck Egg Blue to the entire piece.

Cari chose the Floral Home Decor Transfer™ set and used the pink rose transfer. She cut off the frame that goes around it and added the main portion for the top of the table. She also cut away a couple of the script to add to the drawer front and parts of the frame as well.

Here you can see the drawer front, with added bits of the transfer from the script and frame that was cut away from the transfer image. Its fun to use pieces in different areas to bring the whole design together. The original drawer pull was replaced with a crystal pull…

Cari used the stencil with plaster paste and allowed it to dry for a while. Depending on how thick you apply it, it will take a couple hours to dry or more. Use the Chalk Paste® as a wash over the design and the rest of the table too. Cari applied it with a wet brush and dabbed away excess in certain areas if needed. Then replace the stencil and add Eternal Wax over the raised design and along the seams of the table too…
