French Floral Sign with re·design

Today, we have a beautiful project to share with you using our newest releases and a favorite medium. We upcycled a framed panel and made it into a sweet decor piece for your wall. Plus, we have a video to share, showing all the steps to recreate it…

This panel was an outdated picture that was a very inexpensive find and measures 12 inches wide by 36 inches long (just to give you a general idea of the size you would need to create this) A plain wood slab from a hardware store would work or go to the thrift store to find something similar…

We painted over using Dixie Belle Paint, in Tea Rose in the center and City Scape on the frame by House and Canvas. Then added a light wash of Cement Chalk Paste with a brush and water over the framed area. Then gave it a light sanding too. Here is a supply list of the re·design products we used: Chalk Paste-Cement-635206 Decor Transfer-Fuchsia Sunset-636913 Stick and Style Stencil-Tea Rose Garden-638320

Cement-Chalk Paste® Here is a video showing all the applications and steps to recreate this sign. It was so fun and easy to do. The Stick and Style Stencil Roll allowed us to add the design without worry of the frame-it just folds up to it so that your pattern is in place and you get a crisp image next to the edge too. Use the stencil strip up to 6 or 7 times and then discard. Each roll comes with 15 yards of stencil, plenty to use on many projects…

The design here is very subtle, but you can add a thicker layer of Chalk Paste for a bit of dimension or solid color with the pattern. Give it a light sanding with fine grit sandpaper for an aged effect too.
