Isn't this the coolest trunk? Our home decor team member, Crystin Min gave it a makeover using various paint colors, patina, Finnabair crackle pastes and the [re]design with prima stencils.
Here is the before shot of the trunk. Crystin saw the possibilities and went to work. It had really great hardware or as we say, "good bones"...
From Crystin: "I used Modern Masters' reactive metallic copper paint and Dixie Belle's bronze patina paint. Then used Modern Masters' aging solution green patina and their blue patina activator. And I also used Vintage Tide's electric blue activator...."
"I painted the trunk with a base of Dixie Belle's stormy seas then painted on their plum crazy and cotton. Then dry brushed some Renaissance Aegean Coral."
The results are beautiful-the colors are coming to life and they almost remind us of a storm-with all the patina and colors working together-don't you think?
Next, she decided to add some texture and pattern using the crackle pastes by Finnabair for Prima and selected the French Damask stencil.
Crystin did a Facebook Live video, sharing how she added the crackle pastes to the stencil. She pounced the pastes onto the stencil using a brush and mixed the white and gold together on the image....
And here are the results! Pretty cool-right?
On the front of the trunk, she added the [re]design Madelia Garden stencil with the pastes-great idea to mix the stencil designs...
