Count all the Ways to Alter a Pumpkin
Pumpkins are the quintessential fall decor piece. Perfect for both Halloween decor and a fall tablescape. You can always just buy a pumpkin and leave it as is, but what is the fun of that? This project works with fresh pumpkins straight from the pumpkin patch or a styrofoam pumpkin found at the craft store.
Some of our favorite mediums to use are decoupage paper, paint, decor moulds, wax and decor transfers. If you create an altered pumpkin, be sure to share it with us by either tagging @redesignwithprima on Instagram or posting it to the Redesign with Prima Facebook group.
Can you count all the ways we can alter a pumpkin?
These cute little pumpkins were decoupaged with rice paper and then foliage was added as embellishments. You can use any of our decoupage papers to achieve similar results. Try Fiber Paper, Decor Tissue Paper, A1 Rice Paper, or Finnabair Tissue Paper!

Paint, Decor Moulds, and Decor transfers make the prettiest pumpkins! To get the moulds to curve around the pumpkin just right, use modeling material. Pull the casting out of the mould before it has time to dry and immediately glue it to your pumpkin. It will dry in the perfect shape!

If you are a fan of mixed media then this little pumpkin decorated with “found objects” may just be the type of project for you. Start by painting your pumpkin in any color you like. Next, add whatever found treasures you can find. You can try and stick with a theme or let your imagination run wild. Wiola used bits and bobs one might find in a workshop to create this beautiful Jack-o-Lantern!
