Learn How To Add Character To Your Furniture Drawers Easily

Do you want to add a little pop of color or character to your furniture makeovers? You can use our Decoupage Decor Tissue Paper to create a fun artistic detail that is sure to turn heads!

For this project I used Decoupage Decor Tissue Paper in Watercolor Flora and Abstract Arrows. You will also need your favorite decoupage medium, for this I used Dixie Belle’s Satin Clear Coat.

Because the Decoupage Decor Tissue Paper is slightly see through, I applied a base coat of paint first. You do not HAVE to do this, I chose to. As a result, the patterns popped more, especially the Watercolor Flora.

Adding The Tissue Paper

The next step is to line up the tissue paper where you want it. I used my finger to press along the edge of the drawer to make a crease.

Once my crease was made, I cut the paper slightly above the crease so that it would not overlap the edge of the drawer.

After you have painted your base coat and it has fully dried, you will fit your tissue paper. This paper creases easily but has amazing durability!

Sealing- For A Long Lasting Finish

The next step after cutting the tissue paper is to apply the decoupage medium. I like to use a foam brush and apply liberally. This layer of medium will act as almost a glue for the tissue paper.

The last step in this process is to apply the decoupage medium on top of the paper. You can allow the medium to dry and repeat application a few more times.

Look at how amazing these drawers look!! Before and after!!
