Nothing but Wax
Decor wax is perfect for creating a finish or highlighting a specific design. You can also use decor wax instead of paint with stencils. They blend well together and are very opaque. Decor wax is easy to use and comes in a wide range of colors and finishes.
First up we have our classic Decor Furniture wax. It comes in tubes, spreads easily with a wax brush or fingers, and leaves a shine. Perfect for making little details on moulds pop or for updating hardware.

We also have Finnabair’s Art Alchemy wax. This line has the most variety in color and finishes. Varieties include
Opal magic changes color depending on the background color it is used on. It has a color-filled and shiny result on dark surfaces and a delicate pearled iridescent effect on lighter backgrounds.
Wax Paste leaves an opaque layer of color on any surface. Perfect for making little details pop.
Matte wax will apply a layer of color without the shine. It cures with a flat finish.
Metallique wax contains a variety of colors and adds a metal-like finish to any surface it is applied.
Antique Brilliance wax creates a vintage effect with a shine on dark surfaces and on lighter surfaces creating an antique effect with a touch of iridescence.
Antiquing wax leaves an aged or worn look on metal and wood. Unlike Antique Brilliance, Antiquing wax leaves a flat finish.

Despite there being so many different kinds of wax, there are a few things they all have in common.

Decor Wax typically cures in 24 hours and dries permanently. However, they should always be used as a top or final layer. You do not need to seal Decor Wax but if you would like a little extra protection you can use a water-based polyacrylic.

Do not place Decor Transfers over wax. Instead use mineral spirits to remove the wax in order to give your transfer the best place to adhere. You can, however, then use decor wax on top of the transfer.

It is always best to start with a small amount of wax and add more as needed. Wax is very opaque and a little will go a long way.
Don’t be afraid to try something daring. If you make a mistake or do not like how something looks you can wipe away the wax with a soft cloth before the wax has had a chance to dry.
Whatever the project, there is sure to be a wax that is just right!
